GETTING STARTED
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step. The process is designed to be simple and supportive.
Step 1: Submit an Inquiry
Start by completing the contact form or sending an email to inquire about availability.
Step 2: Receive Your Setup Links
After your inquiry is received, you will receive an email with two secure links to complete the setup process:
Insurance Verification (Headway)
If you plan to use insurance, this link will allow you to:
• enter your insurance information
• review your estimated copay or deductible
Client Portal (SimplePractice)
This portal will be used for all therapy-related activities, including:
• completing intake forms
• scheduling appointments
• receiving appointment reminders
• joining telehealth sessions
• secure messaging if needed
Step 3: Schedule Your First Appointment
Once insurance verification and intake forms are completed, you will be able to schedule your first appointment through the client portal.
Step 4: First Appointment
During the first session, we will discuss your concerns, goals, and background in order to create a thoughtful treatment plan together.
FEES & INSURANCE
Insurance
For clients using insurance, I partner with Headway, which manages insurance verification, billing, and claims processing.
You will be able to review your benefits and schedule through the Headway platform. If you are using insurance, your cost per session will depend on your specific benefits (copay, deductible, coinsurance). I’m happy to help you understand what to expect. If you wish to use insurance, please click here to verify your insurance plan and estimate costs for therapy services.
Private Pay
Private-pay therapy services are also available for individuals seeking greater flexibility or privacy. Private pay sessions are $185 per 55 minute sessions. Initial intake sessions are $250.
Private pay clients may submit a “superbill” for potential partial out-of-network reimbursement directly with your insurance company. Super bills are available through the client portal.
Out-of-network Reimbursement
In order to find out your out of network benefits, call the number on the back of your insurance card. Make sure to ask about Behavioral Health and ‘in-person’ vs. ‘telehealth’.
You can provide specific CPT codes to confirm coverage:
90791: Initial intake
90837: Individual therapy
Telehealth Across State Lines (PSYPACT)
I am licensed as a psychologist in the state of Ohio and authorized to provide telehealth services across participating states through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).
PSYPACT allows psychologists to legally provide telehealth services to clients who are located in other PSYPACT-participating states at the time of their session. This means that if you live outside of Ohio but are located in a PSYPACT state, we may still be able to work together through secure telehealth sessions.
Because insurance contracts are typically state-specific, insurance billing may not always be available for cross-state telehealth services. In these cases, sessions are offered on a private-pay basis, and a superbill can be provided for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance plan.
If you are unsure whether your state participates in PSYPACT or have questions about how this works, please feel free to reach out.
